Domestic commodities price hike worries CAMAPublished by Revolver Junior on 24 March 2021.
The Consumers Association of Malawi (CAMA) has expressed worry over the silent increase of domestic commodities.
CAMA director John Kapito said the price of different commodities has risen taciturnly.
“As consumers we are very concerned with the increased price of domestic commodities, it is very sad that the prices have been raised without our knowledge,” said Kapito.
Kapito stated bread as a commodity which has had its price hiked.
“As we are talking now, bread was at K450 but now it is getting sold at K570,” alleged Kapito.
Bread, Cooking oil, Baking powder, Sugar and Maize flour are among the commodities whose price has been incremented.
It has been ascertained the commodities price has swiftly been advanced with a 12% increment representing K12 per each K100 of every commodity price.
