Mixed Reactions As Itel Picks Diamond Plutnumz As Their Brand AmbassadorPublished by Revolver Junior on 2 April 2021.
There are mixed reactions in Malawi following Itel’s decision of awarding a Tanzanian afro singer Diamond Plutnumz as their brand ambassador.
Yesterday 1st April 2021, Itel announced on their Facebook page arguing it was their pleasure to announce Diamond Plutnumz as their brand ambassador because he won the MTV EMAs best African act in 2015.
However the announcement felt alike an embarrassment to many Malawians as they say it is awkward to award a Tanzanian citizen as their ambassador.
“Itel you are a joke! How can you pick someone who is not a Malawian as your brand ambassador? We have lots of talent in our current we are not happy with this,” someone commented on their post.
“Hedee! Kumpeza Diamond yo ali pa i-phone yake phee,” reads a random comment on the post.
“Azanu tili busy ndi likiliki kuno, osamtenga mmayi uja bwanji?” reads another random comment from a Mzuzu based woman.
The Itel – Diamond ambassadorship deal has consecrated most of its product users, as some are hailing the company for picking Diamond because he is popular in Africa while others are blaming it for taking Malawians for granted.
